We used this as a class read a loud while we were studying History Year 1. The students enjoyed the story from the perspective of a young Egyptian boy. The story also opened up the opportunity for us to discuss slavery during history.

My two girls (5/7) love listening to this story. It’s such a good book showcasing how kids, even thousands of years ago, are so similar! We are halfway thru and I love how I can trust that this story won’t have questionable content unsuitable for my young listeners. And I love how it also showcases the hardships of this life for so many people too.

A nice simple read about a young boy who has an adventure with his father, a good story for a ten year old.

Boy of the Pyramids is the heartwarming story of the unlikely friendship that forms between an Egyptian nobleman’s son, Kaffe, and Sari, a slave girl from the Sinai region. Together, they come to understand each other’s cultures, learn the traditions and farming methods of the people who live along the Nile, uncover foul play during a bullfight, and themselves in danger while seeking adventure, understand Egyptian beliefs about the afterlife, and ultimately solve the mystery that is woven throughout the tale. This is an engaging story of family love, compassion, sacrifice, bravery, loyalty, and adventure!
